Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMet) is a great institution, home to thousands of bright and enthusiastic students and many talented and experienced staff. We are passionate about providing the qualifications and training that local employers and communities need.

Our goal is to prepare all of our students for the world of work, both now and in years to come. Our facilities are world class: with many employers helping us to invest in the latest equipment so that our students gain the most up-to-date skills possible. This offers them an enhanced learning experience, one which better prepares them for their chosen employment and careers.

This key, proactive role within our leadership group will drive the achievement of outstanding levels of performance through the continuous improvement, effective deployment and integration of quality policies, processes and systems.

The successful candidate will further develop and deliver the strategy for quality that reflects the current and future educational needs of BMet. This strategy will be key to our aim of becoming the most exciting college in the region, providing an inspirational environment for students and securing outstanding outcomes for all.

Our Head of Quality will provide dynamic leadership and management to the Quality team and to the services it delivers across the College. They will hold responsibility for developing and implementing a quality framework that provides for an excellent standard of teaching and assessment across the College, one which increases success and continually improves the student experience. This role offers both significant cross-college influence at a strategic level and real opportunity for professional development.

At BMet we are hugely ambitious for our learners and the employers and economies we serve. Our staff and governors are committed to a relentless focus on quality and continuous improvement to further drive up standards and deliver even greater success. If you have the commitment and drive to take on a proactive, senior leadership role and have proven success in leading sustained, outstanding performance levels through continuous improvement then we’d welcome your application.

For an informal and confidential discussion about the role, please contact Hannah Light, Executive Support Assistant at Birmingham Metropolitan College to arrange a time to speak with Adrian Morris, Vice Principal Teaching and Learning.

Closing date: 2 June 2016.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 15th June 2016.

Sutton Coldfield and Matthew Boulton College have joined forces to bring together an unrivalled selection of courses and qualifications for learners.

The ‘Fusion’ of these two prestigious colleges can be described as something new created by a mixture of qualities, ideas and experiences: bringing together first-class teaching, guidance and facilities which both colleges offer into one spectacular and bold learning experience.

This latest chapter of the Colleges’ history brings about changes to enable the oldest provider of Further Education in the City to join a learning institution who have a long history of success.  Our vision is to create a high quality further and higher education college in central and north Birmingham that will deliver outstanding learning opportunities for young people, adults and employers. Our proposed merger and long standing strategic partnership has demonstrated many benefits. Our proposed new name, Birmingham Metropolitan College, will firmly cement our position in Birmingham.
