Due to the growth of the school, we are excited to have the opportunity to welcome a new Head of RE to the St Andrew’s team.  As a Church of England school, RE is a core subject and, as such, is taught in every year.  Our students explore all forms of Faith, and consider their place in the world, whilst tackling the ‘big’ questions life poses. Enabling students to become independent thinkers and ethical citizens is a key part of our vision.   To that end, PSHE is currently delivered by our RE teachers who enable students to approach topics from varying perspectives. 

St Andrew’s is a small school, at which every child is known and loved.  The successful candidate would be joining at a key point in the school’s journey. We have not only welcomed girls for the first time in September 2021, but have also developed the breadth and depth of our curriculum.  With significant investments continuing to be made in the school, we are presented with an opportunity for real innovation and change.

Our curriculum is broad and balanced, and enables all students to develop a love of learning alongside focusing on their academic rigour.  As we continue to grow, our enrichment offer grows with us – learning does not happen only within a classroom, and our extra-curricular offer continues to develop to reflect this.  

We are looking to appoint a dynamic practitioner who has an aspirational vision that will inspire our young people and staff, taking the maths department to the next stage of their journey.  

We are driven to achieving excellence in all areas, with a keen focus on placing STEM, and all of its elements, as a key foundation of our whole school curriculum. The successful candidate will have a positive and solution focused approach, applying a ‘can do’ attitude to challenges that may be faced and a willingness to deliver teaching across the science RE department. 

It truly is an exciting time to join St Andrew’s.  With considerable change afoot, there is so much impact to be made as the school goes from strength to strength.

St Andrew’s C of E High School is a co-educational CofE secondary school in West Sussex, serving pupils from the age of 11-16, situated in Worthing.  With a pan of 180 per year group, St Andrew’s is a small and community centred school in which every child is known and loved.  Having been graded Good in all areas by Ofsted in April 2023, the school continues on its rapid journey of improvement and growth.
