Job overview

Queen’s Gate is a thriving GSA day school for girls aged 4 –18 and is ideally situated in Central London to take advantage of the many educational opportunities on offer. The School has a Christian foundation, but we welcome girls of all denominations and faiths.

We wish to appoint from 1st January 2018 a well-qualified teacher to lead our successful Religious Studies and Philosophy Departments.  Philosophy is offered as an A Level only, but Religious Studies is taught throughout the School and is a popular choice at both GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will be required to teach Religious Studies at all levels up to and including A Level and Philosophy at A Level.  A proven record of achieving outstanding success at both GCSE and A Level is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead the Departments with enthusiasm and to ensure that our teaching is exciting and challenging.  He/she will also be expected to play a part in the life of the School, including involvement in pastoral responsibilities and extra-curricular clubs/activities.

This is a full-time position, but we may be prepared to consider candidates on a part-time basis, if they only offer one of Religious Studies or Philosophy.

An application form and further details may be downloaded from our website www.queensgate.org.uk/about-us/vacancies or requested from School. When completed the application form should be sent together with a covering letter to the Principal, Queen’s Gate School, 133 Queen’s Gate, London SW7 5LE or by email to recruitment@queensgate.org.uk to arrive no later than Monday, 3rd July 2017.

Queen’s Gate is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo enhanced DBS checks and have references taken up with previous employers.
