We are looking for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic full time Head of Religious Studies to join our over-subscribed school with a thriving Sixth Form. We require someone who can teach Religious Studies to KS3 and KS4 and there is also a possibility of KS5 teaching.

This is a fantastic role for an individual who is committed to inspiring and motivating students through their innovative and engaging teaching. This role is suitable for an experienced teacher who is looking for their first middle leadership opportunity with the chance to grow the department.

Hollyfield is a beautiful school set in the Surbiton area of Surrey with excellent transport links to central London which enables our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides. We are an ambitious school that puts student achievement and wellbeing at its heart.

We are part of the Every Child, Every Day Multi Academy Trust and in March 2020 we were judged by Ofsted to be ‘good’ and are working hard to continue to develop our high standards. The trust provides excellent subject-level support and leadership CPD through the NPQML and NPQSL programmes. The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:

• QTS;

• a broad base of subject knowledge;

• the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5;

• a clear vision for a knowledge-rich curriculum;

• the ability to employ a range of teaching and learning

strategies;

• the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;

• effective interpersonal skills and the desire to work

• effectively as part of a team;

• ability to demonstrate suitability to work with children

and young people.

For further details about the school visit our website. Please note we cannot accept CVs.

Early applications are encouraged and we reserve the right to hold interviews before the closing date.

PLEASE NOTE:

Due to the current situation, the interview may be conducted via video conferencing and the successful candidate(s) will also be required to complete subject specific tasks online within a set time.

The Governing and Trust Bodies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and expect all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. The schools within the Trust are committed to all aspects of personal development, are inclusive and seek to ensure every student achieves to the best of their ability. As part of our safer recruitment we will require two references. One of these should be the Headteacher at your present or last school. The other should be someone else from teaching.
