The Hammond in Chester has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Resources to join the senior management team. This is a new post created as a result of a re-organisation.  As the leading business management professional, the post holder will ensure the mission of The Hammond is achieved through effective strategic and operational management of those staff responsible for delivering excellent services to support effective teaching and learning.  These include all aspects of Finance, HR, MIS, ICT, Estates, Facilities, Marketing and Administration.  

 It is not expected that the successful candidate will be an expert in all areas of role responsibility. They will, however, have a graduate qualification and a professional background in at least one relevant business specialism.  More importantly, they will have the proven leadership capabilities to manage the breadth of business requirements, which go alongside such a critical support position.  

Having celebrated its centenary in 2017, The Hammond is a coeducational day and boarding school of around 350 students aged 7 years to degree level (Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ in 2011 and 2015, ISI ‘an excellent quality of education’ 2014 regulatory ‘fully compliant’ 2018), offering a broad based education with very good public examination results.  Post 16 courses are vocationally driven in the field of the performing arts, with destination aimed at careers in the theatre and the world of entertainment.       

The school participates in the Government’s Music and Dance Scheme (MDS) and also receives awards from the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s DaDA scheme.
