Job overview

Head of School

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader, or an experienced and aspiring teacher ready to embrace the next step, to help shape the future development of our wonderful primary school.

Farrington Gurney Church of England Primary School is a thriving village school. The school is an academy and an integral part of the Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership, a growing multi-academy trust.  We are a small, friendly and supportive team committed to providing the very best possible education for all our children.  As a school we have a commitment to varied extra-curricular activities and provide a broad and balanced curriculum.

The Executive Head and Governors wish to appoint an inspirational individual who is also a strong and dynamic teacher, with experience of subject leadership. In addition to teaching a class of 24 Year 5 and 6 children, this role will provide an opportunity to spend time out of class leading aspects of the school.  Working alongside the Executive Head you will be required to effectively lead a dedicated team of professionals to build upon existing strengths and further develop outstanding provision within the school and across the Trust.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable groups and expect all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.  As part of this, anyone working in a post with children or vulnerable groups will  undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

Visits to the school are strongly advised; please telephone the school secretary Michelle Hazard on 01761 452419 to arrange a time or email the school at office@farringtongurneyschool.co.uk.
