Head of School

Brentwood College School invites applications and nominations for the position of Head of School.

Brentwood College School is one of Canada’s most respected independent schools and a global leader in boarding. Located on the pristine coastline of Vancouver Island, Brentwood is a thriving, healthy, and happy community of 550 boarding and day students (grades 9 to 12) and a deeply caring and committed faculty and staff. A university preparatory school, Brentwood has a long tradition of seeking new and innovative ways to enhance learning for each individual student. An inimitable physical location, the Tripartite Program specifically designed for students seeking a variety of exciting academic, athletic, and artistic options, and a culture of inclusion and support create a singular place of learning.

The new Head of School will be a strong and respected educational leader, with a track record of fostering a dynamic and healthy school community, mentoring and developing staff and faculty, and encouraging students to be their best. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in an independent school and a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of boarding. The Head will live on campus and be excited about being deeply immersed in all aspects of school life. Above all, the Head will be a relationship builder, with a deep and abiding connection to students and a genuine interest in their lives.  They will have the skills and experience to engage all members of the school community in creating a blueprint for Brentwood’s future and then inspiring, supporting, and empowering the community in pursuit of this vision. They will be committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of school life. The Head of Brentwood will be a person of exceptional integrity and character, with superb interpersonal skills, and an ability to forge deep and meaningful relationships across the School community.

Brentwood is deeply committed to its caring culture and its reputation as a place where all members of the community have a voice. Its new leader will embody that culture – working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, the Board, and donors to take Brentwood to even greater success.
