Job overview

The Trustees, the Governing Body, staff and pupils at Roselands Primary School are seeking to appoint a Head of School to work closely with the existing leadership team and Trust leadership, to promote high quality teaching and learning within a co-operative learning environment.

Our current Head is moving on to a new role so we are looking for a Head of School with clear vision and high standards to take us on the next step of our journey. Our enthusiastic and talented staff are committed to providing the best possible learning outcomes for every pupil in our care.

Roselands Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Paignton, in modern, good quality buildings with large grounds and great views over the countryside to the Torbay coastline. Behaviour in our school is excellent and our children, who are happy and enthusiastic learners, relish the challenge that each new day brings.

As part of Riviera Education Trust, our dedicated and professional staff benefit from high quality CPD, enhanced by our Trust’s teaching school, the ‘Torbay Teaching School Alliance’. We enjoy close links with many other local primary schools, and we believe that collaboration is at the heart of our continued future success.

We are looking to appoint a candidate who:

  • has high expectations and is aspirational for each child to reach their potential by supporting the provision of rich and varied opportunities
  • is innovative, inspirational and able to motivate our staff and children ensuring they feel valued and supported
  • can continue to build on our strong relationships with parents, local schools and the wider community
  • can drive forward existing strategies and shape the future direction of the school
  • has proven leadership, interpersonal and management skills.

We seek a leader with vision who will embrace and build on our Trust’s ethos and values. As part of this role you will be committed to raising standards, have a commitment to inclusive teaching and learning, work with our professional and dedicated staff, our hardworking children and supportive parents. You will take an active role both in and out of the classroom, and will look beyond the boundaries of our school to forge new opportunities for our pupils.

Above all, we are looking for someone who will love and nurture our wonderful school.

If this is you, we look forward to meeting you and receiving your application. Opportunities to visit the school are available on the morning of 12th November, and the afternoon of 18th November. Please contact Kay Cottee at Roselands School on 01803 525375 to book a place. For an informal discussion with the CEO, Stewart Biddles, please contact Wendy Vreony at Oldway Primary School on 01803 697634 to schedule an appointment.
