About the School

English International School (EIS) Moscow (https://englishedmoscow.com/) is a British style International school in Moscow, comprising of three campuses in the East, West and South West of the city.  Recognised for the outstanding quality of education we provide to students aged 3 – 18, we are well-established and lead the market in providing a British style education.

The school offers learning and teaching experiences based on the English National Curriculum, adapted and extended to meet the needs of international students.  Secondary students are prepared for Cambridge University and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and A Level examinations. 

The school’s three campuses are located across the city, all within a 25 minute metro ride from Central Moscow.  The first EIS campus is located in Novogireyevo District in the East of Moscow.  The second EIS campus was opened in September 2012 in the West of Moscow at Molodogvardeyskaya metro station, catering for Primary aged students aged 3–11 years old.  The third campus is located in the South-West part of Moscow at Prospekt Vernadskogo metro station.

The campuses are known for their smaller school size and family feel environment.  Class sizes are all under 18 pupils. The school as an examination centre for Edexcel and Cambridge University and a full member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

About the Opportunity

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic senior leader as Head of School to one of our three campuses.  The role is due to start from August 2020 and an excellent remuneration package is available.

The Head of School will promote and support the vision and direction of the campus, by providing day-to-day leadership which supports build success and provide high quality education for our children. You will develop your skills in school leadership under the guidance of the Executive Principal for EIS Moscow, who will have responsibility across the three campus sites.

The successful candidate will be a strong school leader with a proven track record of promoting, developing and delivering excellence in education.   Interested candidates should download the job profile and person specification for greater detail. 

About the person

Applicants must have a relevant Bachelor degree from a reputable UK University (or equivalent), Qualified Teacher Status, with either a PGCE or BEd from the UK, and a minimum of 2 years previous school leadership experience. 

You should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all of the schools’ stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • UK-based teaching qualifications and experience
  • A proven track record of achievement in leadership positions within similar education establishments
  • Experience of working in a British international school environment outside the UK in a multi-lingual multi-cultural setting
  • A passion and a drive for excellence at all levels and developing teachers so that they deliver quality teaching and learning experiences for their students.
  • The ability to lead change and achieve sustained improvements.

Initial selection interviews with qualified candidates will take place via Skype on a rolling basis as applications are received. Candidates shortlisted for the role will be invited to a final stage interview in Moscow in the early part of the new year.
