An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated leader to head up the SEND provision at West Herts College.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking individual to manage the specialist team that works with young people who have a diverse range of special needs. 

You will join a highly cohesive and supportive team which looks to develop and nurture the lives of students with complex and diverse requirements in an educational setting. The role requires an excellent understanding of the SEND agenda and vast experience of working with young people with special needs. 

Understanding curriculum development and the strategic aims of further education is essential to this job role and the post holder’s wider college responsibilities. 

The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and will demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of the academic, social and emotional needs of young people within further education.   

Highly effective organisational skills are essential and the role requires all the attributes to lead, inspire and motivate colleagues to work collaboratively as a team. 

This role will also involve working closely with external organisations, local authorities and other partners to best represent young people and college interests.
