Head of School

Ventrus is seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of School for The Duchy Primary School (Bradninch). This new post has been created as part of our commitment to investing in leadership within the Trust, which comprises of eleven primary schools and one secondary school. Heads of School are the day-to-day leaders of their schools and are offered a bespoke package of support, by their Executive Headteacher. The role would suit leaders wishing to step into headship, as well as serving Headteachers.

This vacancy offers exciting opportunities for school leaders who are committed to creating rich learning opportunities and improving outcomes for children.

Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• A track record of improving standards in schools and successful leadership.
• Their ability to manage people.
• A commitment to their own and other’s professional development.
• The ability to work effectively in a team and to work collaboratively with others.

The Duchy School is made up of 7 classes, from Reception to Year 6. It was judged to be “Outstanding” at its last inspection, in 2015. The school is set in the beautiful town of Bradninch, nine miles north of Exeter. The school offers a rich and varied curriculum, delivered by highly skilled team of staff.
