Head of School

Ventrus is seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of School for Wilcombe Primary school (Tiverton). This new post has been created as part of our commitment to investing in leadership within the Trust, which comprises of eleven primary schools and one secondary school. Heads of School are the day-to-day leaders of their schools and are offered a bespoke package of support, by their Executive Headteacher. The role would suit leaders wishing to step into headship, as well as serving Headteachers.

This vacancy offers exciting opportunities for school leaders who are committed to creating rich learning opportunities and improving outcomes for children.

Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• A track record of improving standards in schools and successful leadership.

Wilcombe Primary School comprises of 8 classes, from Nursery to Year 6. It was judged to be “Good” at its last inspection, in 2016. The school is set in the mid-Devon town of Tiverton and offers wrap around care and a school-based provision for children who are struggling to access learning in their own schools. It is a highly inclusive school that is committed to raising the ambition and aspiration of its children; outdoor learning lies at the heart of the curriculum.
