The Governors seek to appoint an outstanding practitioner of Chemistry, Biology or Physics, who can successfully lead a team and raise the profile of Science across the school. You will have a proven track record of securing successful pupil outcomes and creating a culture of learning where everyone can achieve, and exceed, their potential and contributing to whole school improvement. We will offer a range of CPD opportunities to support the successful applicant. This is a rare opportunity to be centrally involved in establishing an outstanding school from its early stages. The role is suited to an outstanding teacher ready to become an exceptional Middle leader.
As Head of Science you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team and raising the profile of Science across the school;
- Delivering catch up and Closing the Gap Interventions;
- Developing students' Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural Development, within the subject area;
- Supporting the development of learning and teaching strategies within Science.
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent subject knowledge;
- Have a strong classroom presence and be able to model excellence in the classroom;
- Have a proven track record of achieving outstanding student attainment outcomes;
- Be experienced, enthusiastic and able to mentor and coach less experienced staff within the Science Faculty;
- Offer a substantial commitment to extra-curricular activities;
- Join a school that recognises and rewards staff that are willing to go beyond normal expectations.

Located on beautiful grounds, set in the heart of Stoke Poges, Pioneer Secondary Academy opened in 2022 under the Trusteeship of the Sikh Academies Trust (SAT).
