About Stoke Park School and Community Technology College

Stoke Park School was formed in 1919 - a girls' grammar school in the Stoke Park district of Coventry. The current school was built in the 1930s and remained a girls' grammar school until 1975, accommodating 450 - 500 students each year.

In 1975, the school became a co-educational comprehensive school, and building work commenced to accommodate six forms of entry for the expected 900 - 950 students; the school became a Community College in 1976. The school has been, and remains, extremely popular with the new Year 7 intake always at full capacity. It also has a thriving sixth form (recently graded 'good') making total school numbers in the region of 1100 each year.

Stoke Park is a popular, inner-city multicultural school and community college, where places for students are always in demand. The school was awarded Technology Specialist School status in 1997 and became a Trust School on 1 September 2008.

We are committed to equality of opportunity : our work is motivated by a belief that the education of each member of our community is equally important, and that we are all individuals with differences who can appreciate each other's worth and learn from each other. We believe that every person should be valued for their unique talents, abilities and experiences, but, at the same time, is a member of a diverse and vibrant community. As a community college, we are open for the whole family to join activities for most weeks of the year, including daytime and evening community classes.

Our site and buildings are very well maintained and constantly undergoing refurbishment. A state of the art 6th Form centre was opened in Easter 2008. This specialist accommodation for 6th Form teaching includes science laboratories, music technology and an ICT suite, as well as a private study/resource base, general teaching rooms, seminar room and 6th Form common room.
