We require an outstanding teacher and highly effective leader with the enthusiasm and vision to build on the strengths of our Science department, and continue to raise the achievement and standards of this ambitious, well-resourced team.
The Head of Department will ensure teachers in their team deliver high-quality lessons, achieving excellent results for their students and instilling in them a love for the subject and a desire to succeed. The role comes with the opportunity to help develop an engaging and challenging Science curriculum.
The successful candidate will have the experience, creativity and commitment to lead the continuing development of our Science department and will play a key role in the drive to further improve overall learning and progress.
You will:
be an excellent and ambitious classroom teacher; have a proven and demonstrable track record of success at GCSE; have middle management experience in a Science Department; have a good understanding of the current educational developments, especially those relating to classroom-based practice; have the highest expectations of students; have an enthusiastic and positive approach within and beyond the classroom; have energy, stamina and a sense of humour.
