We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational Head of Science to join an improving and ambitious team across Kingsmead schools.

This post provides an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to play a key part in establishing science as an inspirational experience as part of the curriculum offer across Kingsmead Schools. This post would suit a colleague that is passionate about teaching science, leading change and working with pupils with a range of additional learning needs.

The post holder would play a role as part of a supportive and reflective team that is keen to reflect on strengths and build on areas for further development. The new leader of this key curriculum area will be able to help the department continue to grow and flourish whilst having the opportunity to innovate and explore new ways to maximise the potential of our pupils.

The successful candidate will be able to engage and enthuse our pupils and motivate a diverse range of staff across multiple sites within the city of Derby. Our mantra “we never give up” underpins our approach to engaging pupils and guides our values, it is important that the successful candidate can embrace and embody this philosophy.

Kingsmead is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
