St George’s British School, Madrid is one of the prestigious St George’s Group of Schools.  We are a 3 to 18, inclusive, outstanding, co-educational school. Our students follow a British Curriculum, taught in English, as well as a core Spanish Curriculum taught by qualified Spanish teachers.  Our school opened in 2010 and has expanded rapidly. September 2016 will see our first full cohort of year 12 and 13 students

This is an exciting opportunity for a Chemistry or Biology specialist to lead our new and rapidly developing Science Faculty. Science is taught in specialist laboratories from year 7  up to AS and A´level. From year 8 onwards the Sciences are taught separately. At GCSE we deliver IGCSE core and separate Sciences.

Person Specification

  • UK Teaching qualification for the appropriate age group.
  • Honours Degree or equivalent.
  • Recent experience in middle leadership and experience of building teams.
  • English should be your first language.
  • Good humour, calm, common sense, a positive, ´can do´attitude, a genuine love of education and a commitment to contributing fully to the life of the school.
  • The ability to teach a second subject is desirable.

About St George's British School Madrid - Calle Padres Dominicos

St George's British School, Madrid is an all-through international school and Sixth form college for pupils of mixed gender aged between 3 and 18 years old. The school primarily follows the English national curriculum, covering a wide subject range from the British Curriculum but also incorporating Spanish language to present what it calls a bi-cultural and balanced education. Students will work towards achieving IGCSE and Advance Level exam qualifications.

Opening in September 2010, it is one of five St Georges schools across Spain and is a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS). It has more than 500 pupils enrolled and is located in the Alcobendas region of Madrid. The other St George's schools are located in Barcelona, Malaga, Sevilla and Almeria.
