Job overview

Trinity is a small, oversubscribed Church of England school in a vibrant inner city context. We aim to foster a strong Christian ethos within the school, however we are fully inclusive and encourage applicants of all faiths and none. Our most recent Ofsted report (October 2016) highlighted that we are “Good” in all areas. We are now clearly on our journey to Outstanding and this post will play a key role in us achieving this. At this time of curriculum change, this role would give the successful candidate the opportunity to develop and shape the science curriculum which is no doubt an exciting and enticing challenge.

We seek an enthusiastic, well qualified Science specialist to lead our well-resourced Science department. This is an ideal position for any candidate who is ambitious and keen to progress in their career. Each member of the department has their own modern, fully equipped classroom, supported by two very able fully trained science technicians. Including this role, there are 5 teachers within the team so this post would certainly suit a colleague looking for the first step into middle leadership or for an experience head of department who wants to shape an outstanding team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding teacher
  • Be accountable for leading, managing and developing the subject area
  • Be able to teach Science up to KS4
  • Be able to inspire and enthuse pupils
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a good proven track record in raising attainment and accelerating progress

Informal visits to the school are welcomed.

Closing Date: 3rd July 2017
Interviews: Will follow soon afterwards

Completed application packs should be returned to Mrs Uloma Ezirim by email:
u.ezirim@trinity.lewisham.sch.uk

By post: The School Office Manager, Trinity CE School, Taunton Road, Lee SE12 8PD

The successful candidate will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Your application has not been successful on this occasion if you have not heard from us by 10th July, 2017.

Values and vision

Trinity All Through School aims to be a strong Christian community in which children and adults flourish. It aims to be a place where pupils achieve the very best educational outcomes, enabling them to make good life choices and to take their place as citizens of the wider world.

As far as learning goes, the school believes in vocation and seeks to enable children to explore their choices in careers and relationships. The school models itself as a 'grammar-style school’, aiming to offer the very best for every child within a formal, traditional academic framework enriched by sport, music and art.

Leadership is encouraged at all levels of the school and students have opportunities to exercise leadership. Trinity All Through School also strongly believes that formality, in its public events and relationships, helps students by building character and an appreciation of structure.

Ofsted report

We are a ‘Good’ School with Outstanding Elements, Ofsted 2021, an ‘Outstanding’ School in our Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report and we have been awarded with the Inclusion Quality Mark as a ‘Centre of Excellence’.
