UTC was set up by the Mulberry Schools Trust, led by the governors of Mulberry School for Girls and supported by Barts Health NHS Trust, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the British Film Institute, Goldsmiths University of London and the National Theatre. Mulberry UTC offers young people an employer-led education, focused on the creative industries and the health sector. This is a school where outstanding academic achievement is valued alongside practical, hands-on and technical learning, ensuring our graduates are well-motivated and highly employable individuals.
We are looking for a Head of Science to take up this important leadership role at Mulberry UTC, a new school for boys and girls aged 14-19 which opened in Tower Hamlets in September 2017. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Mulberry Schools Trust and to take up a key role at Mulberry UTC. Mulberry UTC provides provide young people with the opportunity to achieve excellence in both academic and technical learning. We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic teacher who can excel in their own classroom practice and lead a small team of subject specialists. The successful candidate will be a skilled teacher of science with the ability to teach GCSE and A-level. You will have experience of achieving excellent outcomes for students, preferably in an inner city context. You will be skilled at building rapport with students and engaging them in learning in creative, practical and innovative ways. Our successful candidate will join us for September 2018 and we may be able to offer an earlier start.
