An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to look for our new Head of Science. If you are a science specialist who absolutely loves your subject, has been developing your leadership skills, with a strategic focus aimed at securing the best outcomes for all students, you would be perfect as our next Head of Faculty in Science.

You may already be working at faculty leader level, or perhaps this is the next step you have been working towards. Either way, if you are ambitious and are looking ahead to achieving further promotion within a short space of time, for example, Assistant Headship or equivalent, then this is certainly the post for you.

We believe that the position of Head of Faculty is key to the school's success. In addition to providing expertise and inspiring leadership to the team, the Head of Faculty drives school improvement and faculty outcomes. At Northampton School for Girls, Heads of Faculty work as part of the extended leadership team forging a vision that delivers results and consistently enables us to ‘do better’.

As part of our school professional learning offer, you will have access to an outstanding CPD programme, which will enable you to continue to develop and grow as both an excellent teacher and leader. We are also have a strategic partnership with the Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub and actively support employees to participate in the nationally recognised training programmes they provide. The Science team at Northampton School for Girls are a group of highly experienced subject specialists who are passionate and enthusiastic about conveying their love of Science to our students. Beyond the classroom we actively encourage students to take part in STEM focused activities, which has recently included engaging with the Royal Society of Chemistry competitions.
