Forward-thinking and aspirational, Ullswater Community College places learning at the heart of everything it does. We recognise and understand difference, celebrate and encourage diversity, promote strengths and support and overcome weaknesses.
We are looking for an outstanding teacher to lead our highly successful Science Department from September 2018. You will head a team of talented colleagues who are securing increasingly positive outcomes for our students and who are always looking for new ways to bring success, challenge and innovation into their teaching.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced teacher to join the staff of this popular community college. In 2017 the College had a positive progress 8 score and was in the 39th percentile nationally for overall progress; 65% of Year 11 students achieved 9-4 grades at GCSE in English and maths.
The Science Department offers both trilogy and separate science at GCSE and the sciences are an increasingly popular choice post-16, where both A-levels and BTECs are offered; many students continue to university and higher-level apprenticeships in a science-related discipline. The department benefits from 10 laboratories, 3 technicians and currently has 7 full-time and 6 part-time specialist teachers of science.
UCC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Closing date for applications: 12 noon Monday 19 February 2018.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing 26 February 2018.
Please download job details and application form from our website or contact Eleanor Flood at the College (e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org). We are happy to accept applications on the TES application form or on our own form.
We regret that only successful applicants can be contacted.
