Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya is looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Secondary to join our talented, dedicated team from August. As the next Head of Secondary you will have the opportunity to lead an exceptional team of practitioners within a rapidly growing community. 

Since its inception in 2003, Sri KDU Schools have continuously been at the forefront of the education industry in Malaysia, offering the Cambridge Primary and Secondary curriculum leading to IGCSE and A Level. Schools work towards providing five core promises to parents; Top Academic Outcomes, Future Proof Preparation, Holistic Character Development, Welfare and Safeguarding and Continuous Improvement. Sri KDU Subang Jaya opened in 2017, formerly GEMS International School is a purpose built campus currently catering for 650+ children. Students are from 27 different countries across the World. The school is typically three-form entry, with room for growth in the future and has a developing A Leve program. The school uses the National Curriculum for England as a basis for its teaching and students undertake the Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A-Level examinations. A passion for student centred learning is at the heart of our philosophy. There is a middle leadership team in secondary to work on aspects of school improvement and strategic planning.

The Role

Duties: To assume overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Secondary School.

Skills: The Head of Secondary should be an adaptable educator and innovative leader with a passion for learning. They should be a good motivator, communicator and team worker and should be capable of managing key aspects of an expanding and high profile International Secondary School with a focus on raising standards. No preference in subject area is required.

Essential  

University educated with an Honours Degree, hold recognised teaching qualification evidence of on-going professional learning and development.

Knowledge 

•Previous senior leadership position

• Track record of assessing, monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and the delivery of a vibrant curriculum

•Ability to work with all stakeholders to implement the strategic vision of the school to bring out the best in all students, promoting our vision and delivering our promises to parents.

Desirable 

•CIS / Accreditation process experience

•DSL / DDSL experience

•Commercial operations of schools – timetabling and budget planning

• A Level experience

 Experience 

Essential 

• Leadership position in a school

• Excellent professional knowledge of curricula, quality management, school organisation and current educational issues.

• Coaching and mentoring skills.

• Promoting good communication within and beyond the school.

• The ability to represent the school to its student and parent community.

• Organisational and administrative skills and experience of efficient resource management.
