Job overview

Thank you for your interest in joining GES as Head of Secondary English and EAL. This is an exciting role that is key to our future. We want to ensure that all of our students have a solid foundation in the English language which enables them to excel in their education. We have combined responsibility for EAL with this role as a number of our students are very strong orally in English but struggle to read and write to the same level.

We will also be advertising for a teacher of English role due to the expansion of the school and so you will have the opportunity to really shape the department and teaching of English across the school. This is a great role for an experienced teacher or head of department.

We are looking for someone with the key pieces of experience listed below:

  1. You should have at least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an excellent British state or private school,
  2. You have experience of differentiating work for both SEN and EAL students,
  3. You should have experience of teaching a wide variety of students from year 7 through to year 13 and be confident in leading on all aspects of literacy across the school,
  4. You have a track record of achieving excellent GCSE and A Level results,

If you have these skills and experiences then we would love to receive your application. As a school we offer a wonderful opportunity for the right member of staff to grow and develop in a leading international school. You will teach wonderful young people who have a desire to learn and succeed, you will join an ambitious and committed team who are striving for excellence and you will live in the most beautiful part of the world.

We require the successful candidate to start on 24th April but will consider a summer start for an exceptional candidate.
