Here’s the standard bit: This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to make a real difference to the outcomes for young people with SEND. As a skilled and passionate individual; you will support the Senior Leadership Team in developing a whole college approach to SEND. You will ensure that support is deployed and delivered effectively and that teachers are equipped with the skills and understanding to meet the needs of SEND learners with or without an EHCP. You will have experience in developing effective systems which allow staff efficient access to information and resources regarding individual learner needs. Along with an expert knowledge of the SEND code of practice, you will also have the skills to provide accurate and timely management information. In addition to developing the Learning Support provision as learner needs grow and change, you will also support the Senior Management Team in providing key information to understand, develop and meet strategic objectives within the borough.

What you’ll need: You will have a proven track record in understanding the needs of learners, SEND/EHCP processes and legislation and managing a diverse team of staff. You will have the necessary skills to develop effective and accurate systems to ensure that support is of high quality and that funding is used effectively. A good working knowledge of the EHCP process, high needs funding and a good command of using systems are essential for this role.

Tameside College is a coeducational further education establishment. It is situated in the town of Ashton-under-Lyne, in Lancashire. It gives students a range of qualifications to choose from. This includes BTEC, Apprenticeships and degrees. The college also manages and owns Clarendon Sixth Form College, Camp Street, Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire OL6 6DF.
