Monkwearmouth Academy opened its Sixth Form College in September 2016 in partnership with South Tyneside College and the Foundation of Light offering a wide range of A Level qualifications, together with a Football Scholarship. This is set to develop considerably in September 2017 to encompass a wide range of sport and academic qualifications.
The Governors wish to appoint a Head of Sixth Form to lead and manage all aspects of Sixth Form provision and related partnerships. In addition this post will be a part of the Senior Leadership Team of the Academy.
Responsible for the leadership and development of the Sixth Form including academic progress, curriculum, recruitment and admissions we welcome applications from established leaders with experience of working in a sixth form and teaching key stage 5 with values that support our ethos that that every young person really does matter. In addition you will be an ambitious and reflective colleague with the ability to engage, enthuse and inspire staff and students to support continuous improvement.

Monkwearmouth Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Tyne and Wear serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Seaburn Dene, Sunderland has approximately 823 students on record.
Monkwearmouth Academy was established in 1962 and converted to academy status in 2013. The secondary school is part of the Wearmouth Learning Trust, which includes Redby Academy, who is the sponsored academy.
