Emanuel School is a co-educational independent secondary day school in Wandsworth, London, with over 950 pupils from 10-18 years old. We aim to balance academic excellence with the provision of supportive pastoral care and a wide range of co-curricular activities across the arts and sports. Due to the promotion of the current postholder to a deputy head role, we are now looking for a new Head of the Sixth Form to lead our older students in their A level studies and career choices.
The Head of the Sixth Form is a key post within the school, and we are looking for an exceptional person to fill it. The right candidate will have excellent pastoral and academic understanding of this age group, combined with the leadership qualities and presence needed to fulfil this key senior management team post. This exciting, varied and rewarding role may well suit someone with pastoral management experience or a successful head of department – critically they must have the proven ability to inspire and engage A level students and enjoy working closely with colleagues and parents.
We are looking for someone who will improve academic outcomes for students across the sixth form by having high aspirations, as well as supporting and leading them with good humour, clarity and empathy. The right candidate may be someone aspiring to take on a future deputy head role with a pastoral or academic remit.
As with other senior pastoral posts, the Head of the Sixth Form will join the safeguarding team as one of the deputy DSLs.
