Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding teacher to undertake the leadership and management of teaching and learning within the Social Sciences department. We are looking for a person with creativity and vision, and a clear understanding of the curriculum, having particular experience of teaching Health and Social Care.
The successful candidate will be able to lead a team of subject specialists to raise levels of attainment through innovative and enthusiastic approaches to teaching across all Key Stages; and will have high standards and expectations to continually improve and develop the teaching and learning practice within their department.
We share a site with a primary and special school, and a new sixth-form centre is being developed. The school's ethos emphasises high quality teaching to achieve excellence and enable its students to maximise their potential.
Applications are invited from suitably experienced candidates who are committed to academic excellence and feel they have the commitment and skills required to lead a department; as well as the desire to make a real difference to the outcomes of young people whilst delivering first class learning.
