Wirral Council is looking for an experienced and energetic leader to provide strategic leadership in collaboration with senior education, health and social care colleagues to ensure improvements in outcomes for children and young people with SEND are met.

The successful applicant will lead the strategic development, commissioning and procurement of specialist provision for children and young people (0 to 25 years) with special educational needs and disabilities and be responsible for the strategic framework for the delivery of relevant services and support to children, schools and families.

You will have an excellent knowledge of SEND processes and be able to develop the skills of others in the SEND team.

You will be the Local Authority strategic lead in all areas of SEND strategy policy development on a local and regional basis. You will strategically oversee complex/challenging cases which require specialist input to ensure learners' needs are met.
