About the Role:

City of Bristol College has a large and growing number of High Needs students and has an excellent reputation for providing high quality learning support.  This is an exciting opportunity to lead the SEN curriculum in a growing area of the City of Bristol College’s offer. The post has been created to provide leadership and management of our successful provision for student with learning difficulties and disabilities, from pre - entry sensory learning for young people with profound, multiple and complex needs, to our growing provision for students with Autism and our Internship programmes.

Reporting into the Assistant Director for SEN and Additional Learning Support the post-holder will ensure that our programmes meet the needs of young people with special educational needs and disabilities, with the emphasis on achievement and progression to further learning, work and independence.

The post-holder will be responsible for the operational management of the area, for curriculum development and for improving and assuring high quality. The post-holder will contribute positively to partnership working with schools and other external agencies to develop high quality link and progression and transition opportunities and will work collaboratively with other college managers.
