HEAD OF STRINGS

Required from September 2017

Sherborne School is an extraordinary community with a rich heritage and ambitious outlook.  The School now seeks to appoint an outstanding individual to the position of Head of Strings from September 2017 (although a later start date may be possible, by agreement).

The successful applicant will have a good Honours degree in Music and will also be an outstanding performing musician in his or her own right.  He or she must be willing to take on responsibility for leading a team of Visiting Music Teachers; a significant teaching commitment; and rehearsals which take place at times commensurate with the life of a seven day boarding school.   The imagination to inspire, guide and challenge boys of all ages and abilities is essential, as is the enthusiasm to contribute to the breadth of opportunities in this full boarding school.  Previous boarding experience is not required.   Applications from teachers from both the independent and maintained sectors are welcomed.

For a full application pack go to www.sherborne.org/vacancies/

A completed application form, together with a covering letter, should be sent to the Recruitment Manager, Mrs Samantha Belgeonne, at hr@sherborne.org

Closing Date: 9:00 am. Thursday 11 May 2017

Interviews: Friday 19 May 2017
