For April 2017, or September 2017, the Enfield Music Service (EMS) is seeking an inspirational musician and educationalist to lead the teaching and learning of string instruments across the London Borough of Enfield.
About us
The Enfield Music Service (EMS) is the lead organisation for Enfield’s Music Education Hub. It is a specialist service comprising a team of dedicated, experienced and qualified staff and delivers high quality music-making opportunities for children and young people, both in and out of school hours.
About the post
The post is part of the EMS management team, with line management responsibility for a team of string tutors, a substantial teaching commitment and collaborative working with a wide range of stakeholders. The post also includes maintaining and developing string teaching across Enfield and contributing to the delivery of ensemble activities.
About the post-holder
The post-holder will be an outstanding, committed and inspirational teacher and musician who has the ability to improve the musical outcomes of Enfield young musicians. He/she will have an impressive track record of successful string teaching, ideally in all phases, and will be able to demonstrate a high level of playing on a string instrument. The post-holder will possess the ability to effectively communicate and interact with a wide range of people, quickly establishing professional credibility.
About the benefits
An 18 months fixed term contract in the first instance, with the possibility of a permanent contract at a later date.
