Emslie Morgan Academy (EMA) is part of Liverpool City Region Academy Trust (LCRAT). The academy currently provides education for 80+ pupils in KS3 and KS4 who are permanently excluded from mainstream schools from the Wirral. We are looking for someone who will work to support the educational aspirations and lifelong opportunities of our young people.

The Headteacher, Governors and Academy Trust of Emslie Morgan Academy are seeking to appoint a strategic thinking, highly motivated and conscientious Head of Student Services to join our staff. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and Academy Trust.

The Head of Student Services is a specialist leader within the school and will link directly with all referring schools (40+)/commissioners, agencies and families. In all aspects the post holder must actively seek to promote the educational aims and ethos of this specialist alternative school. The post holder will work closely with the Deputy Headteacher in securing quality placements and outcomes which close gaps in the educational achievement and additional needs of our vulnerable students/families. The post holder is responsible for leading student services and contributing to the development of whole school improvement in the area of pastoral support and behaviour on a day to day basis.

We encourage applications from candidates who are inspired to make a difference to the lives of challenging young people, are self-motivated, have a “team work” ethos and present with the highest professional standards.

Application forms are available to download from

www.wirral.gov.uk and also from the school website www.ema.wirral.sch.uk

Closing Date: 1 November 2017, 12 noon. Interview dates to be confirmed.

Please return completed application forms with a supporting letter to Ms Jeannette Kelly, PA to the Headteacher, at the school address. Please note CV’s will not be accepted.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All applicants will be considered on the basis of suitability for the post regardless of sex, race or disability.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Level DBS check.
