Job overview

We are seeking a Head of Teacher and Leader Development to lead on critical work across our network, as a part of our mission to ensure that all of our pupils receive excellent teaching, in every classroom, every day.

This role will build and shape AET’s teacher and leader development programmes and networks to enable all of our leaders to have the greatest possible impact on the classroom.

You will lead on our strategy to train and develop the next generation of talented school leaders across our network of 57 schools. Your work will build AET’s reputation as being at the cutting edge of thinking around leadership in education.

You will lead our work to ensure that we have great teaching across our schools, codifying excellence and ensuring that teachers across our network have the best opportunities to learn and develop. You will think about what it really means to be a teacher at AET.

AET is ready to unlock the potential in all our children and young people. We are building a network of excellent schools across England. Excellent schools need excellent leaders and teachers to deliver the very best for our children and young people. This new role, as part of AET’s education leadership team, is at the heart of that. This role is critical to us redefining educational standards and establishing AET as the model to the system.

This role is for you if:

  • You are a recognised expert in leadership and teacher development.
  • You want to drive change and achieve sustainable excellence, in one of the largest and most inclusive educational organisations in the country.
  • You have a track record of designing and executing large-scale, complex and highly effective programmes of teacher and leadership development.

If you can talk to us about your passion for developing talented people, your success in leading leadership and teacher development, and your ability to work at scale across multiple schools please get in touch - we’d love to hear from you.

We offer:

  • More training and development, so you can get better at what you do.
  • More support for you and your loved ones - a health cash plan, lifestyle savings discounts, employee loans and savings scheme, and employee assistance programme.
  • More technology so you can have more impact.

The role will be based at 183 Eversholt Street, London NW1 1BU (role will include regional and national travel as well as the potential for home working).

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

AET was established in 2008 and is now a national network of 57 primary, secondary and special academies. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive network of schools which span nearly every region in the country.
