Job overview
Do you want to work in a school that is completely different?
If so, here is the unique opportunity to use your experience and skills in alternative provision teaching and curriculum development, and your contribution will be valued as part of a pioneering approach in a growing senior team.
The Boxing Academy is a ground-breaking and unique school which uses the discipline and ethos of a boxing gym to deliver a high-quality education for young people for whom mainstream school is no longer an option.
In March last year approval was granted for us to become a Free School and, as part of that transition, the academy buildings are undergoing significant extension, adaptation and refurbishment to provide amazing facilities.
As the most senior person with curriculum responsibility you will lead a team of teachers and support staff in a unique and effective education model. We offer core subjects but the challenge is broadening this provision while improving outcomes, which requires an informed, aspirational and creative approach. In addition to your curriculum expertise, the ideal candidate will remain calm, unfazed when the unexpected occurs, be self confident, and demonstrate a strong interest in young people from challenging backgrounds.
Advantages include:
- Working with an ambitious and forward thinking team with a strong track record of success
- Students who are challenging but very rewarding to work with
- An opportunity with scope for you to make your mark
- Facilities undergoing extensive modernisation and adaptation for purpose
