We are looking for an inspirational and outstanding practitioner with the vision and drive to provide strategic leadership to this exciting area, with effect from September 2018.  

Key responsibilities will include:

• Secure staff commitment to a clear vision and common purpose for the Year Group.
• Lead and manage a Tutor Team to ensure effective academic support and monitoring of students.
• Ensure that each student joining the Sixth Form is enrolled onto appropriate programmes of study.
• Systematically monitor and evaluate each student’s attendance, attainment and progress.
• Liaise effectively with Subject Leaders, teachers and parents to ensure that each student’s progress is maintained and that academic concerns are dealt with appropriately.
• Promote high expectations and achievement for all students so that each student achieves his/her potential.
• Promote equality and enable the educational and social inclusion of all students.
• Contribute to the continuing development of the post-16 curriculum by developing a comprehensive understanding of the issues relevant to this age group.
• Contribute to the preparation of students for entry to Higher Education in liaison with the other key staff involved in the Higher Education process.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Sixth Form Centre, supported by the Assistant Headteacher (16-19).
• Contribute to fulfilling the objectives of the annual Sixth Form Improvement Plan
