If so, we at Humphrey Perkins School would love to hear from you.

Who are we?

Humphrey Perkins School, an 11-16 academy in Barrow upon Soar, Loughborough, is on a journey.  Following our Special Measures judgement in June 2017, much work has already been undertaken to improve the school and to raise standards, including a new Governing Body and support from an outstanding Multi Academy Trust. We now are looking to strengthen the Humphrey Perkins team through recruiting outstanding teachers, who share our belief that every child deserves the very best standards of education.

We are a small school of approximately 800 pupils, situated just outside of Loughborough. We take pupils from our local and surrounding villages and are fortunate to have excellent parental support. Many of our pupils enter the school with high prior attainment and they are very aspirational. Most work hard and are courteous, polite and respectful. We are a small friendly team who believe our pupils deserve better. We are committed to improving standards here and would like the right person to join us.

As Head of Year you will also work closely with our Curriculum Leaders to ensure our pupils achieve their potential and are well supported in their learning. The successful candidate will have a strong presence around the school, be a proactive, and decisive individual, who, is able to uphold the school vision and communicate well the school’s and their own high expectations to both pupils and parents.

We need an outstanding pastoral leader who:

• Has a clear vision for success and can motivate and inspire others to share that vision.

• Can ignite the imagination of young people and instil a burning desire to learn and achieve.

• Is passionate about working with young people and shares the belief that every child deserves the very best.

• Is an excellent teacher, with a proven track record of delivering outstanding pupil outcomes.

• Is determined, proactive and decisive.

• Can bring about change.

What can Humphrey Perkins offer you?

• The opportunity to be part of our journey and to really achieve something and to change young people’s lives.

• Excellent opportunities for professional development, within the school, the Multi Academy Trust and externally.

• The opportunity to work in a supportive and caring environment, where everybody’s contributions are valued.

• A wonderful opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain valuable experience in preparation for senior leadership.

We invite applications from ambitious professionals who enjoy a challenge and who are committed towards their own professional learning and development. We invite applications from those who share our ethos and who want to be part of a forward-thinking team on an exciting journey of school improvement and who most importantly are committed to making a real difference to the lives of young people. We are particularly interested in applications from individuals who can also teach Maths, English or Science.
