St Ives School is seeking to recruit additional capacity within our highly respected pastoral care team. The successful applicant will be committed to promoting the wellbeing of students, high standards of behaviour and engagement in education. They will share our ethos of nurturing every child’s potential and our commitment to providing highly effective support to remove barriers to learning. We offer a dedicated and committed staff team and we are looking for a talented and forward focussed individual with a passion for education and student achievement. Skills and experience in working with children in a pastoral care role would be an advantage: full training and support is available.
Main responsibilities, working with the pastoral and safeguarding teams:
- Provide pastoral support and intervention for students to promote high standards of behaviour and engagement in education
- Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to promote engagement in education

The successful applicants will be supported by Nicky Lingard (Interim Deputy Headteacher). The role will require the postholder to attend a half termly House Leader meeting.

About St. Ives School
St Ives School is a co-educational comprehensive school for pupils aged 11-16, serving the community of St Ives and the surrounding villages in Cornwall. The school has been sponsored by Truro and Penwith Multi-Academy Trust since April 2014.
Alongside the core curriculum, a programme of additional activities and classes for students are run in the school’s High Performance Academy. The acaemy is supported by Truro and Penwith College and bring to the school national and international speakers, lecturers and coaches to work with students.
The school offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities, including clubs, and local, national and international travel.
