Job overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Head of Year to join our University Technical College (UTC). The post is suitable for a person with a strong pastoral approach to education and you must be able to offer a STEM subject.

The UTC opened in September 2015 in a new state of the art building. This is not only a relatively new school, but a new approach to educating 14-19 year olds; which is possibly the most exciting change in the education landscape in decades. All students at UTC Oxfordshire specialise in either Engineering or Science; at 14 they will also study a rich and balanced curriculum and at Post 16 the curriculum becomes more specialist. At capacity, we will be educating 600 students who will all have a passion for Engineering or Science; it truly is an inspirational environment.

This role will provide you with:

  • The opportunity to work with an excellent pastoral team to enhance the lives of our young people.
  • Focused teaching – only teaching KS4 and KS5 classes.
  • Passionate students.
  • Opportunities for career development as the UTC grows and across Activate Learning Education Trust (ALET).
  • An opportunity to be at the forefront of STEM education.

If you think this is the role is right for you, please complete an application together with a supporting letter and return to hr@utcoxfordshire.org.uk

Closing date: 5pm, Monday 13 June 2022

Interviews: Thursday 16 June 2022
