We are really excited to have the opportunity to advertise for a Head of Year to join us in September. We are looking for an ambitious teacher who is keen to progress their career within the pastoral system and who has a strong desire to work closely with students and their families to ensure they have a great school experience. We are looking to recruit a Head of Year with a subject specialism of RE, Technology, English or Geography.

Heads of Year at Slough and Eton lead a team of six Form Tutors, one of which will be their Deputy. There are 180 students in each year group and Heads of Year travel up the school with their tutor team and students. There is a team of non-teaching staff who strengthen the pastoral support we offer to students and Heads of Year work closely with that team.

Being a Head of Year is a great opportunity to shape and influence the lives of students as they grow into adults. Adults remember fondly a great Head of Year and as students they value the personalised support that role can offer. If this excites you then we’d like to hear from you.

Primarily we want a great Head of Year who can enthuse their year group, deliver great assemblies and maintain high standards of both conduct and achievement. If the subject specialisms we are currently recruiting for are not your subject area but you would be interested in applying for the Head of Year role then please contact our HR Manager to discuss the vacancy. Contact details are given below.

Slough and Eton is a great school on the outskirts of Slough, which serves the Chalvey community. We are relentlessly focused on ensuring great teaching, learning and experiences are at the core of what we do. It is an exciting time for us and our students are a pleasure to work with.

If you are interested in finding out more then watch our video https://www.slougheton.com/uploaded/Slough_Eton/Slough_Eton_v2.mp4 and read the welcome letter from our Headteacher. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to satisfactory references, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check and evidence of essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.

Applications can be sent to us at the email address vacancies@slougheton.com. CVs alone will not be accepted as a valid application.

About Slough and Eton CE Business and Enterprise College

Slough and Eton is a great school and I am immensely proud to have joined it as Headteacher in September 2017.  Pupils and students at Slough and Eton are expected to work extremely hard and are encouraged to achieve their very best in all that they do.  As a result of their tremendous work ethic they achieve extremely well and we are very proud of them.  We believe in educating the whole child and as such place great importance on the many cultural experiences we provide for pupils and students as well as the academic ones.

As a Church of England school we welcome pupils from all faiths, foster a culture of tolerance and understanding throughout the school and are always delighted to show visitors the fantastic things that happen here.  We have a thriving and growing Sixth Form and enjoy using excellent facilities.  If you are interested in finding out more about our school then please do come and visit us.  I would be delighted to show you around, along with some pupils and give you the opportunity to talk informally with some staff about what it is like to work at the school.

Mr Peter Collins
