Are you an ambitious and passionate teacher looking for a role as Head of Year?
Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill is looking to recruit a dynamic and inspiring middle leader to take responsibility for ensuring an excellent standard of behaviour, attendance and personal development.
We would particularly welcome applications from candidates whose subject areas are English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, Food Technology or Alternative Provision. However, applications from other subject areas will be considered. The successful candidate will be required to teach all abilities across KS3 and KS4 in their specialist subject area. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and extra-curricular activities within the Academy is essential.
A Head of Year works with the Assistant Principal to ensure excellent student behaviour, attendance and personal development across the year group. They lead strategies for removing barriers to learning. As a role model for young people across the school, they foster an outstanding ethos and support the development of the academy’s behaviour for learning policies. Heads of Year will manage a team of Tutors and be responsible for working with parents to ensure that every student reaches their potential. This is in addition to carrying out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document.
Lord’s Hill is a good school with improving outcomes over time, and is part of the highly successful Oasis Community Learning multi-academy trust. The successful candidate will share the ambition of community transformation, delivered by exceptional education at the heart of the community.

Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill opened in 2008 as part of the initial Academy programme. Since we have been open we have seen significant improvements in achievement, progress and attendance. Academic achievement has markedly improved for all students regardless of their needs or starting positions. In fact analysis of our data by prior attainment (low, middle and high) shows that we outperform most schools nationally. We have also seen a huge improvement in student attendance. This is a good indicator, because if students want to be at school they attend regularly.
We have a brand new building which offers our students outstanding learning opportunities. We are very fortunate to have these facilities and we are committed to making the most of them both for our students and the wider community.
The ethos of the Academy cannot simply be summed up by our new building, our improved results and better attendance. The heart and soul of Lord’s Hill can be summed up in our core values which are essential to every member of staff and are the essence of who we are.
