Our School

Torquay Girls’ Grammar School is a girls’ 11 to 18 selective Single Academy Trust (SAT) in Torquay, Devon. 

Our status as a SAT means that we have the freedom to implement a curriculum intent which focusses on the whole child: to equip students for a future in which they have the academic qualifications, character skills and self-esteem to make decisions that lead to long, happy and content lives.

In November 2023, we achieved Ofsted 'Outstanding' and we are also 2nd in Devon and 6th in the South West for academic results.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a new Head of Year. The ideal candidate will be ambitious teacher with a passion for pastoral care and personal development, and play a key role as part of our pastoral structure within school. The successful Head of Year is likely to become Head of Year to the new Year 7s from September 2024, with the view of taking them through to Year 11.

This is a permanent, full-time role, starting on 1st September 2024. The salary for the role is MPS/UPS plus TLR2C (currently £7,361 per annum).

Visits to the school are encouraged on the following dates: 3:00pm on Tuesday 23rd April 2024, and 10:15am on Tuesday 30th April 2024.
