Our aim is to develop the whole person, so that every member of our community can be the best that they can be. We are an established academy which caters for years 7 to 13. The main school is a single sex non-selective boys school, with a modern 6th form centre that is co-educational.
The school has recently invested in new technology with projects including the development of the school WIFI network, implementing a new data management system and we have launched Show My Homework to students in spring 2018. In addition, we have invested in our sporting facilities, upgrading our indoor swimming pool, investing in our gym and we are working with Reading Football Club to further develop our facilities. We have developed a Duke of Edinburgh program for our students and this was launched in autumn 2018.
Wokingham has just been named as the best place in England and Wales to bring up a family due to its good exam results, high quality of childcare provision and low levels of crime, a recent survey has found. A Welcome from The Forest School Academy Trust
Established in 1957, The Forest is a “Good” (OFSTED July 2021) comprehensive school. Currently we are a single sex boy’s secondary school that will be offering co-educational study from September 2024 with a seven form entry in the main school and an existing co-educational sixth form making a total current roll of 793. Our Sixth Form has been co-educational since 2009.
The Forest School is situated in Wokingham, Berkshire.
As The Forest School's Headteacher, I work with staff, students and parents to foster and sustain positive outcomes for all. My ambition is to ensure The Forest School provides an exceptional inclusive education for every student. Students are encouraged to get involved with extra-curricular activities to extend their learning beyond the classroom and gain new hobbies and interests, ranging from sports clubs to choir practice. Our success is based on the strong sense of community as we celebrate 60 years as a community school, with high expectations and mutual respect for all. We develop the whole person and ensure that every student is fully equipped for life through our core values: Aspiring, Safe, Prepared, Independent, Respectful, Excellent.
These values are for all stakeholders as we recognise the importance of parents and the inclusive community in the education of the next generation. We have a strong academic, sport and creative success, and this is delivered through the high level of curriculum and pastoral support for every student.
