Job overview

Penwortham has the following school administrative vacancy for which applicants must be experienced and confident in using the school’s MIS system, SIMS. It is also essential that you have excellent IT skills, be proficient in using Microsoft Office products such Word, Excel and Publisher and have the ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically to all telephone, parent and visitor enquiries is essential.

The role involves working Monday – Friday from 8.30am – 4.30pm term time only including INSET days (39 weeks) and in addition 5 days to be worked during the school holidays as directed by the Headteacher.

Salary: £25,750 - £27,251 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week. Term time only including INSET + 5 Days (40 weeks)
Contract: Full time or possible Job Share

We are looking for the right applicant who will have exceptionally high levels of administrative skills in a multi-support role. You must also be able to undertake administrative support of complex procedures to the Head and members of the Senior Leadership Team and also able to work collaboratively as part of the School’s Administrative Team

Your duties will include:

  • working in a calm, organised manner and be self-motivated to be able to work on your own initiative
  • being able to plan your workload and respond to the school’s demands and priorities
  • fulfilling the role of Clerk to the Governing Body providing administrative and communications support
  • undertaking all aspects of the admissions process including completing and submitting complex forms/returns including those to outside agencies e.g. LA, Dfe.
  • analysing and evaluating data and information in SIMS and produce reports as required
  • being able and confident in building excellent relationships with pupils, parents, staff and stakeholders
  • having clear communication skills whether face-to-face, written or over the phone positively representing the school
