Its location is at the heart of the country, being just over an hour from both Manchester and Birmingham.

Since 2019, Packwood has enjoyed a key strategic place in the Shrewsbury School family of schools. This is an important moment for a new leader to take the helm and lead the School on the next exciting phase of its journey, enjoying all the benefits of this strong partnership with Shrewsbury.

Packwood delivers an outstanding all-round education in a genuinely stimulating and caring environment. Its aims are to provide an excellent all-round education in a happy, supportive and safe environment. It seeks to enable each child to discover and develop their own talent and personal skills and to prepare pupils to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond.

We are looking for a new Head who will look after the pupils and staff with genuine care and energy. They will be outward-facing and adept at both pupil and staff recruitment. The ideal candidate will be innovative, charismatic and an impressive communicator. They will be an expert in all aspects of prep school education and be a strong advocate of prep school boarding. They will lead with sensitivity and integrity and will naturally personify ‘The Packwood Way’ in their daily lives.

The appointment is ideally for April 2024, but this could be extended to September 2024, depending on the availability of the candidate we select for this important role.
