Duke of Kent School is a small, co-educational, inclusive school in a stunning forest setting in the Surrey Hills, educating 300 children from Nursery to Year 11. We pride ourselves on individual knowledge of our pupils and on using that knowledge to ensure maximum possible development for every individual: academic, social, moral, spiritual, physical and cultural.
Following the appointment of our current Head, Judith Fremont-Barnes, as Head of Milton Abbey School, after seven years of outstanding service, the Governing Body at Duke of Kent School, Ewhurst, Surrey, seeks to appoint a new Head from September 2018 (or January 2019 at latest).

Key responsibilities include:
- upholding the Aims and Ethos of Duke of Kent School
- being accountable to the Governing Body for the smooth running of the School
- ensuring that all statutory and legal requirements, including those pertaining to Health and Safety and Safeguarding, are fully met and that appropriate records are kept
- leading and inspiring the pupils and staff
We recognise that some candidates may not have experience of all our key stages (Nursery to Year 11); the successful candidate will at minimum have a deep interest in, and understanding of, child development across the age range.
