Prior’s Field, girls’ day and boarding school in Surrey, is seeking a new Head from September 2024.

Prior’s Field is a vibrant and lively independent day and boarding school for girls aged 11-19. The School currently has around 400 pupils including around 50 boarders.

Prior’s Field is an academically selective school which chooses to accept students with a range of abilities; we offer an excellent all-round education and an individual approach that caters for girls of all abilities and interests, with well-established programmes in place for the exceptionally able and those needing learning support in specific areas. The aim of the School is to bring out the best in each girl, according to her strengths and talents.

Opened in 1902, the School was designed by Charles Voysey in the Arts and Crafts style and all additions and development are in that original style, giving a wonderful sense of coherency and unity to the 44 acre site. Prior’s Field is situated 34 miles south-west of London and adjacent to the A3 to London and the South Coast. There is a fast rail link between Godalming and London Waterloo. Gatwick and Heathrow airports are within easy reach.

The current Head, Tracy Kirnig, has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the school since 2015. The governors are now seeking to make the appointment of a new head from September 2024. This is a tremendous opportunity for a serving or aspiring Head with experience of, and commitment to, both the education of girls and to boarding. The role will suit candidates who are able to create a strong vision and to communicate this vision convincingly both internally and externally.
