Job overview

Due to a change in the current Head’s role, who will be retiring from headship and working part time, as the Director of the Teaching School as St Matthew’s NLE, the governing body of St Matthew’s CofE Primary School are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated head teacher.

We are an oversubscribed, 1 form entry, Voluntary Controlled, Church of England school, last inspected by Ofsted in February 2015 to be ‘Outstanding’ in all categories. We are looking for someone who can lead the school and its committed staff on the next stage of our journey, having being designated a Teaching School in Autumn 2018.

The governors, staff, parents and most importantly the children all feel extremely proud of our school – as you will see when you step through out gates – it is a welcoming, respectful and inspirational environment.  The School is built upon strong Christian values, integrity and inclusivity of children of all cultures. St Matthew’s was designated a Talk for Writing Centre in July 2015 and awarded Teaching School status in Autumn 2018

We encourage all interested applicants to contact the school to arrange an informal visit please call: 0121 359 1602.

Closing Date: Friday 15th March 2019, 12 noon
