The Pines School

Tel: 0121 464 6136

Relocation address: Slade Road, Birmingham, B23 7JH

We are looking for an inspirational and creative leader for our well established Primary School which will be expanding to an all age school. The Pines School is currently a 95 place LA maintained primary special school educating pupils on the autism spectrum. We also offer well established and widely respected outreach provision and are currently located in Castle Bromwich. Following an exciting and challenging period of planning we are realising our long term ambition to develop the school on an alternative site in Erdington from September 2016 where we will have the facility to develop our primary provision to 130 places and incrementally extend our age range to offer secondary provision for a further 60 students. The site already accommodates a mainstream secondary school with a Resource Base and a Leisure Centre.

We are extremely proud to have been judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the third time in January 2014.

The current Head Teacher will be retiring in August 2016, and The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspirational leader who has the ability to realise our vision, ensuring that all our pupils and future students continue to receive an outstanding education.

If you have an exceptional track record as a senior leader with experience in SEN settings and a significant understanding of autism, this role offers an exciting and rewarding opportunity to excel in a new environment.

To become our new Head Teacher you will need:

A proven successful track record of extensive senior leadership experience in Special Education.

The ability to lead with clear direction, building on the outstanding success of the school;

The strategic expertise, innovation and drive to help build on the exciting plans that have been established and are in place for the school’s future development, i.e. whole school relocation to a new site.

A commitment to ensure that all children and young people achieve the very best possible outcomes;

A clear and focused strategic vision, combined with highly effective communication skills that will inspire, motivate and lead all key stakeholders and work with our wider partners to achieve further success.

This is a unique and very exciting opportunity for the right person to lead the development of an all through provision where children and young people with autism spectrum conditions can flourish and realise their potential.
