Poverest Primary School, Orpington, BR5 2JD
Our children learn together, grow together and succeed together
Poverest Primary School requires an innovative, inspiring and intrepid Headteacher for September 2023.
Do you have the talents and navigational skills to guide us through the next stage of our educational journey?
Our 440 children, Families, Community, Governors and Staff, trust that the Salary Range Leadership 18-24 will encourage you to pursue your interest in this post.
The closing date for applications is 28th October 2022.
We encourage, inspire and challenge our children to ‘learn together, grow together and succeed together’, thus ensuring that they reach their full potential, and are both happy and ready, for life beyond our Primary School.
Additionally, we pride ourselves on the inclusive nature of our school. Despite the increase in size, over recent years, we maintain our small school caring and nurturing environment.
Poverest is a vibrant two-form entry mixed-ability Foundation School in Orpington, including 20 children in a Specialist Provision for ASD.
We are an outward looking school, setting high standards, with a good reputation amidst our local community.
At the heart of our school is a commitment to promote shared values, helping all to be responsible, respectful, kind, and caring members of our community.
Our last Ofsted Inspection, judged as Good, recognised our community approach, whereby families are actively welcomed. This partnership was in part, the reason for our ‘Outstanding’ EYFS being nominated for an award by the TES.
We have an experienced, dedicated staff, committed to improving practice, in order to create memorable, high quality educational experiences for our children.
Leadership at all levels, provides the expertise and guidance, that enables success across the school for all.
We work tirelessly, to make sure that our children receive excellent care, and that their academic, social and emotional health needs are met.
We are particularly proud of the efforts our Year 6 and Year 2 children made in their end of Key Stage assessments. Most importantly, all Poverest children make good levels of progress, regardless of their starting point.
Poverest participate in the Co-operative Schools Network Foundation Trust, along with Southborough and Edgebury Primary Schools in Bromley. We also work with Bromley High Girls School. We call ourselves AfaCT (Aspiration for All Co-operative Trust). This has been an exciting chapter for our school, ensuring that we work collaboratively, to further improve our practices. You will receive excellent support, advice and collaboration from other leaders within AfaCT, with an increasing range of opportunities for our children.
We are currently working on increasing curriculum development opportunities for staff.
Governors seek an outstanding, successful and creative leader, with a passion for learning, and a relentless determination to ensure that every child reaches their full potential. We wish for a person who shares our vision and values, but who will also bring us fresh challenge and ideas, building on good practice across the school. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to developing the whole child and to working in partnership with all stakeholders.
Poverest is a stimulating and welcoming place to work, and this is an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate.
If you wish to lead our committed and dedicated team of staff, and our ‘eager to learn’ children, in the next stage of our school’s improvement journey, then we look forward to hearing from you soon.
