Job overview

The Board of Governors of Altrincham Preparatory School for Boys is seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly skilled leader to be our Head Teacher.

APS is a successful and thriving private preparatory day school in the heart of Trafford with currently around 350 boys from age 2 to 11. APS is a private limited company run by the Board of Directors whose members also form the Board of Governors. We are an all-boys school and proud of our heritage. Established in 1936, our ethos and curriculum are driven by a single goal: to deliver the best possible education for boys in our area.

The ideal candidate:

You will have a proven track record of senior leadership ideally at Head Teacher level. You will be experienced in leading education within the private sector and will have a track record of delivering change within education. You will thrive on seeking out new ideas and seeing them through to implementation.

You will have a thorough knowledge of the latest curriculum developments and outstanding inter-personal skills will be essential. A background in boys’ education will be an advantage but not essential.

You will need to prove to us that you can be an inspirational leader and an ambassador for our school and that you have the vision needed to keep APS at the forefront of innovation whilst maintaining our tradition and our values.

Most importantly, you will have the confidence to convince us that you will be a worthy Head Teacher for our school with the aspirational vision to extend our reputation.
